Beautiful antique Japanese cloisonné enamel vase featuring an intricate garden scene filled with butterflies, flowers, foliage, and decorative geometric borders.

The vase has a warm shimmering brown goldstone-style ground with pastel turquoise, pink, cream, blue, green, and rust-colored enamel accents. The detailed all-over decoration gives the piece a charming jewel-like or Easter egg appearance.

The design includes multiple butterflies surrounded by flowers and leafy branches, with scalloped and spiral-patterned borders around the shoulder, neck, and base. The vase has an elegant ovoid form with a slightly flared neck and dark metal rim.

Likely dating to the late Meiji or early Taishō period, approximately 1900–1920. The base has a handwritten inventory or collection number. No maker’s mark was observed.

Approximate measurements:

  • Height: 7 1/4 inches
  • Top opening: approximately 2 1/4 inches
  • Widest point: approximately 4 inches

Condition:
Good antique display condition with age-related wear, patina to the metal rim, scattered surface pitting, and small enamel imperfections consistent with age.
