Wonderful antique-style yellowware pottery piggy bank featuring an unusual mottled green, olive, and dark brown drip glaze. This charming folk-art style pig has pierced hole eyes, a coin slot along the back, four simple legs, and a classic sealed-body design with no removable stopper.
The glaze has a beautiful aged appearance with natural crazing and variations throughout. The green drip glaze is especially eye-catching and gives the piece a distinctive primitive farmhouse look.
This bank is unmarked. It resembles early Staffordshire, Austrian, and Continental yellowware pottery pig banks produced around the early 1900s, although the exact maker and country of origin are unknown.
