Pair of Signed E. Gorman Hand-Painted & Carved Revolutionary War Wood Wall Plaques

Striking matching pair of large dimensional wooden wall plaques featuring American Revolutionary War imagery.

One plaque depicts a Revolutionary-era soldier with musket and bayonet and is lettered “FRENCH Regmt. 1778.” The companion piece is lettered “YORKTOWN 1781” and features an elaborate collection of Revolutionary War imagery including period flags, cannon, drum, horn, eagle and a scroll reading “In Congress July 4, 1776.”

Both pieces are signed “E Gorman.”

The artwork incorporates carved/raised dimensional elements over shaped wooden backboards, with hand-painted details throughout. Each plaque is topped with a carved and painted maple leaf.
