Condition: Natural fossil specimens with weathering, matrix, surface wear and irregularities consistent with age. Please review all photographs for condition and size.
Offered here is a pair of genuine-looking natural ammonite fossil specimens attributed to Nigeria, measuring approximately 3–4 inches across based on the photographs.
These ancient marine cephalopods lived during the Cretaceous Period. Nigerian ammonites from the Gombe/Benue region are commonly associated with Turonian deposits dating to approximately 90–93 million years ago.
Both specimens remain largely in their natural, unpolished state, showing exposed shell structure, weathering and surrounding fossil matrix. Their substantial three-dimensional form makes them interesting examples for a fossil collection, geological display, classroom collection or natural-history décor.
Included:
• 2 ammonite fossil specimens
• Approximate size: see measuring-tape photographs
• Origin attributed to Nigeria
• Cretaceous Period
• Natural, unpolished condition
Exact genus and species have not been independently verified, so they are being offered conservatively as Nigerian ammonite fossils rather than with a specific taxonomic identification.
A fascinating pair of prehistoric marine fossils and a great conversation piece for any fossil or natural-history collection.
